The Vision for Backyard Beginnings in 2025 & Beyond

In Spring 2023, the idea for Backyard Beginnings first sparked in my mind. I wanted to create something that combined my love for organic food, sustainability, and homemade goods. But it wasn’t until January 2025 that I took the leap and officially launched my business.

Now, as I look ahead, my vision for Backyard Beginnings goes far beyond just selling organic jams and jellies. My long-term dream is to establish Backyard Beginnings on a 5-10 acre homestead/farm, where I can cultivate a truly sustainable way of living.

What the Future Looks Like for Backyard Beginnings

🌱 A Working Homestead – I want to grow my own fresh organic fruits and vegetables, ensuring that the ingredients in my jams and jellies come straight from my own land.

🐓 Raising Livestock – Chickens, goats, maybe even bees! My goal is to raise animals responsibly and integrate them into a sustainable farming lifestyle.

🍓 Expanding My Product Line – While Backyard Beginnings started with the idea of only jams and jellies, I plan to introduce:

  • Homemade soaps made from natural ingredients

  • Other organic, homemade goods that promote healthy and sustainable living

♻️ A Commitment to Sustainability – I want my business to reflect my values by focusing on:

  • Using eco-friendly packaging

  • Reducing food waste

  • Supporting local communities

Where I Am Now & What’s Next

Right now, I’m focusing on building Backyard Beginnings from the ground up, but I know this journey will take time. Every small step I take today—whether it’s making small-batch jams, connecting with customers, or learning more about sustainable farming—brings me closer to this dream.

As I continue growing, I want to bring my community along for the ride. If you love fresh, organic, homemade products, I’d love for you to be part of Backyard Beginnings!
